Photographing sacred spaces

A sanctuary asks for a different kind of photography — slower, quieter, more honest about light. Stained glass wants the sun at the right hour; a nave wants symmetry and stillness; an altar wants respect. These houses of worship, from grand historic churches to neighborhood congregations, were photographed for their websites, capital campaigns and community outreach.

Congregations typically call us at turning points: a restoration to document, an anniversary book, a new website meant to welcome families who now find their church the same way they find everything else — by searching. We photograph the worship space at its best light, the fellowship and education rooms that carry weekday life, and the exterior every first-time visitor looks for. Parishes with reception halls will also find kin in our event space gallery.
